Tasting Notes
In 1985, Blangè Langhe Arneis made its debut. It was an immediate hit and led to the family expanding its Blangè program with the acquisition of additional vineyards in the Langhe and Roero Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) zones. In the Langhe, the Cerettos grow Arneis in Alba at the Monsordo Bernardina estate. The majority of their Arneis vineyards are located in the Roero DOC, north of the Tanaro River, near the villages of Castellinaldo and Vezza d’Alba, where the predominantly sandy soil is considered ideal for growing Arneis. When the Ceretto family produced its first Arneis, only 30 hectares (74 acres) of this grape were planted in the region. The Ceretto’s Arneis success inspired a tremendous rise in its popularity, and today there are more than 485 hectares (1,200 acres) planted to Arneis. The Ceretto Arneis is still considered a benchmark for the region and one in every five bottles of Arneis produced in Piedmont bears the elegant Blangè label. Arneis, an indigenous vine that has recently been highly publicized for its previously unrecognised virtues, has finally been given its true identity thanks to considerable investment by Ceretto. It has a characteristically fruity nose, with pear and apple highlights. Its fragrance and flavor are further enhanced by the small quantity of C02 maintained by the fermentation, which helps to make up for the wine's typically low acidity.

Third Party Reviews
"March is traditionally a very important month at the Ceretty Winery as it marks the presentation of the new vintage of our most celebrated white, the Langhe Arneis Blangé. The 2009 vintage is particularly momentous, as our Arneis, a wine that has enjoyed an incredible success since its debut in 1985, will celebrate its 25th birthday! The 2009 vintage of Blangé expresses an unquestionable equilibrium and elegance. The climatic stability of the summer season, combined with a slight anticipation of the harvest and cold maceration of the grape must, contributed to a particularly concentrated bouquet. This allowed us to obtain a very pleasant wine expressing fresh and fruity aromas while maintaining structure. The first bottles of the 2009 vintage present a lovely yellow color with typical light green reflections and a vivacious and attractive nose. In the mouth, the Blangé 2009 is fragrant and refined." - the winery
